Carmine Centrella, Sr. Carmine Centrella, Sr. , 80, of West Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 surrounded by his family at his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Cicione) Centrella of 55 years. Born May 2, 1928 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Dionis Centrella and Lena (Uto) Centrella. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Centrella was a Construction Superintendent for numerous general contractors including Campanelli Brothers of Brockton. He was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Local #624. After his retirement, he worked as a groundskeeper at Southeastern Regional Vocational technical School. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed woodworking and watching sports. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Cicione) Centrella of West Bridgewater; his sons, Carmine Centrella, Jr. of East Bridgewater, Tony Centrella and his wife Nancy of Uxbridge, John Centrella and his wife Jane of West Bridgewater, and Michael Centrella of Easton; he has eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; he is also survived by his sisters, Dolores Meaney of East Bridgewater and Maryann Johnson and her husband Paul of Mattapoisett. He was the brother of the late Marjorie Correia. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Friday, March 27th at 8:00AM thence to St. John the Evangelist Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM.
