Lavigne, of Brockton, October 8, 2002, Carol E. (Townsend) Lavigne, 64 years. Wife of Alfred P. “Fred” Lavigne. Mother of Susan M. Kashgagian and her husband Gary, Richard A. Lavigne and his wife Elizabeth, Kevin P. Lavigne and his wife Mary and Alfred C. “Fred” Lavigne. Grandmother of Zachary Kashgagian, Cody, Peter, Timothy and Nicole Lavigne. Sister of Walter Townsend.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Colman Church at 9 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm. Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 115 West Chestnut St.#301, Brockton, MA 02301.

Obituary Information

Mrs. Lavigne died Tuesday evening at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Cronin) Townsend. Raised in East Bridgewater she was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School. She was a homemaker, who stayed at home to raise her family and for 20 years she was also a home day care provider for teachers in the Brockton area as well as 2 of her grandchildren. She was also a secretary for Fred’s Landscaping and Irrigation for 14 years.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Alfred P. “Fred” Lavigne, a daughter Susan Kashgagian of East Bridgewater, 3 sons Richard Lavigne of Lakeville, Kevin Lavigne of Plympton and Alfred C. “Fred” Lavigne of Brockton, 5 grandchildren, a brother Walter Townsend and several nieces and nephews.
