Online Obituaries Carol A. Neves, 68, of Brockton, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the mother of Joseph R. Thompson, Jr. (BFD) and his wife Holly. Born July 11, 1948 in Lynn, MA she was a daughter of the late Louis and Ann (Freitas) Neves. Carol was raised and educated in Lynn. She received her Juris Doctor Degree from the Massachusetts School of Law. Carol started her career for the New England Telephone Company where she worked for 33 years. She was an avid New England Sports Fan. Carol was a devout catholic, and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton. She loved a good mystery movie or book. Most of all Carol loved her family. She is survived by her son, Joseph R. Thompson, Jr. (BFD) and his wife Holly; her grandchildren, Jaime Whitworth and his wife Trisha, Victoria Thompson and her partner Jon, Jacob Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Tamara Tidwell and her partner David and Zachary Valentine; her great-grandchildren, Stella, Jonathan, Noah and Remi; her brother, Louis Neves; her very close friend of over 45 years, Sandra Tenembaum; her several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Joseph J. Thompson and sister of the late Rose Wallace and Richard Neves. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, February 27th at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00-4:00PM.
