The family of Carol Ann (Samuelson) Porazzo is saddened to announce her passing on February 6, 2025.
The daughter of the late Andrew & Dorothy (Cahoon) Samuelson, Carol was born in Brockton on August 1, 1939. She attended Brockton Schools and graduated from Brockton High School class of 1957. She also attended Brockton Business School.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a homemaker for many years–busying herself by managing a household of seven, leading cub scout troops, attending baseball games and shuffling kids from rink to rink as a hockey mom. She returned to work when her children were older, becoming a school cafeteria worker and later a customer service associate for Wigs by Paula.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Anthony (Tony) Porazzo, her son Patrick and great grandson Vincent. Mother of Michael, his wife Stephanie of Kansas, Paul, his wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, Joanne Gately, her husband Kevin of Stoughton, Gino, his wife Debra of Arizona and daughter-in-law Heather of South Carolina. Grandmother of Daniel, his wife Kate, Melissa, Anthony, his wife Jackie, Alexis, her fiancé Philip, Bianca, Michael, his fiancé Shannon, Amanda, John and Luke Porazzo. Mikaela Martin, her husband Samuel, Jonathan, his fiancé Hope and Colleen Gately. Great Grandmother of Anthony Jr, Christopher, Elizabeth and Vivian Porazzo. Sister of Andrew (Suzanne) Samuelson, Mary Jones, Alice Grant, Margaret (Leroy) Dinnen, Elizabeth (William) Frazier. Sister-in-law of Louis (Diane) Porazzo and Linda Porazzo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Carol was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Samuelson, and in-laws, Hilde Samuelson, Walter Jones, Herb Grant. As well as Paul, Michael, Robert (Clare) Porazzo, Camille (Harry) Nelson, Marie (George) Valente, Lorraine (John) Grandizio
She was incredibly proud of her family and all of their accomplishments. She enjoyed her daily phone calls with sisters and connecting with her grandchildren, who live all across the country. She knew exactly what everyone was up to!
Carol had been a resident of Brockton for 60 years prior to moving to Florida for 21 years. While in Florida, she and Tony had a large network of friends who became like family. She relocated to North Easton 4 years ago, and was a resident of Copley at Stoughton for the past 3 months.
The family would like to thank Carol's Home Health Aide, Ruth, her Copley caregivers, especially her nurse Nola and her aides Marie and Maria for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers you can honor Carol by taking the time to visit or call a friend.
A memorial service will be held on March 30, 2025 at 1pm in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rt.123) Brockton. Memorial visitation will be prior to the service from noon to 1 pm. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on March 31, 2025 at 10:15 am.
