Carpinella "Cuppy" (nee Zuccarino) Pessia, 93, formerly of Brockton, Holbrook and East Boston, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Copley at Stoughton after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Aurelio "Riley" Pessia who died in 1988.
Born in Grottaminarda, Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Rocco Zuccarino and Tommasina (Vietri) Zuccarino of East Boston.
Prior to retiring nearly 30 years ago, she worked at AA Book Distributors in Holbrook, Radio Shack in Randolph and Columbia Farms in Brockton. Until she became infirm, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton.
To each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren she was lovingly known as "Nana Cuppy", and fondly remembered as "Auntie Cuppy" by her numerous surviving nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Pessia of Cotuit and Daniel Pessia of Stoughton; her grandchildren, Katherine Mahoney of Reading, Joseph Pessia of Peabody, Matthew Pessia of North Smithfield, RI., John Pessia of Crofton, MD and Daniel Pessia, Jr. of Weymouth; her sisters, Helen DiCarlo of Saugus and Edith Ferrera of Milton; she is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22nd at 10:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Monday 5:00-8:00PM.
