Obituary

Cary F. Major, of West Bridgewater died September 9, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a period of failing health. He was the husband of Rosemary (Perry) (Bradford) Major. Born June 1, 1934, in Brockton, he was the son of the late Philip and Marion (Martell) Major. He graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1953. Cary was a toolmaker retiring from Instron Corporation in Canton and had also worked at STD in Stoughton and Northrup Corporation in Norwood. During his lifetime, his passions were skiing, fishing, hunting and metal detecting. Cary built a log cabin in Sunapee, NH where he enjoyed many good times with family and friends.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, David Major of Woods Hole, Dana Major and his wife Peggy of Scituate, one daughter Kimberly Linde and her husband Matthew of East Bridgewater, one stepson, Henry Bradford and his wife Nora of West Bridgewater; four grandchildren Jessica, Dylan, Chase and Taylor. He was the brother of the late James Major and Marie Gallagher.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 5-8pm. Funeral Procession will gather at the Funeral Home Saturday at 9am followed by a 10am Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
