Obituary

Catherine V. (Lupica) Markella Catherine V. (Lupica) Markella , of Brockton passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2008 at St. Joseph Manor of Brockton. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Markella and the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Canara) Lupica. Mrs. Markella was born and educated in Brockton and was a life long resident of the city. She was employed at various shoe factories before her marriage, and worked at Dunnington's Apothecary for a short time. Her real vocation, however, was wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine enjoyed traveling to Florida and attending golf tournaments with her husband Anthony. She was especially proud of her grandchildren's participation in dance recitals and sports. She leaves her daughter Kathryn A. Kenney and her husband John of Bridgewater; granddaughter Jill Starsiak and her husband Richard and their newborn son Jakob of Worcester; grandson Andrew Kenney and his wife Catherine of Belmont; beloved sister of Emily Merra, Geraldine Condon, Virginia McDonald and George Lupica of Brockton, Marion Lupica of Middleboro, and William Lupica of North Easton; Predeceased by her sisters and brothers Josephine Kelley, Mary Capiferri, Dominic, Guido, Peter, Nicholas and Rose Lupica. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday at 8:00AM thence to Christ The King Church, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8PM.
