Catherine was the beloved wife of Arthur Steinberg. Devoted mother of Julia Steinberg. Dear sister of Russell Phillips and George Phillips. Sister in law of Marcia Phillips. Aunt of Karen Phillips. Catherine was a devoted nurse who was passionate about her work with children and families. Catherine was a pioneer in the nursing field where she established a pediatric hospice program through the Brockton VNA called SETH. She continued her work in diverse clinical settings; including becoming a certified lactation consultant. She continued to work per diem even post-retirement. She had a passion for reading, singing, gardening, painting, and spending time with her family. She had a loving and caring personality towards anyone who met her. She had a special place in her heart for her family and friends. Catherine was born in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Bill Phillips and the late Edith Ferguson (Day) Phillips. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 7th from 2:00 to 4:00PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street.(Rt.123) Brockton.
