Catherine "Kay" (Anania) Saba, 81, of Brockton, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Philip M. Saba (Retired Principal of Randolph High School)
Born April 19, 1931 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano Anania and Elizabeth (Dodero) Anania. A lifelong Brockton resident, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1949. She then graduated from Boston University in 1953 where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Omega Phil.
Kay was a School Teacher at Randolph High School and for the Brockton School System for 35 years. She retired in 1994.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton.
She is survived by her children, Joanne Nash and her husband Johnny of South Carolina and Philip M. Saba, II of Brockton; her grandchildren, Philip M. Saba, III and Matthew Saba; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marion Barry and Joanne Alfonso.
Funeral Information
Following Cremation, Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 22nd at 9:00AM thence to St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton where Services of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00-5:00PM with Incense Service at 4:00PM.
