Smith of Brockton, June 15, 2006, Catherine I. (McLaughlin) Smith, 85 years. Wife of the late William J. Smith. Jr. Mother of Thomas J. Smith of Sandwich, Daniel W. Smith of Cohasset and Carol Crean of Plymouth.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123)Brockton Tuesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass is St. St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 9 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:15 am. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Obituary

Mrs. Smith died Thursday at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (McCormack) McLaughlin. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton. She retired after many years as Production worker at the former Howard Johnson Food Mfg. Plant in Brockton. Mrs. Smith was an avid reader and a longtime communicant of St. Edward Church

She is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Smith of Sandwich, Daniel W. Smith of Cohasset and a daughter, Carol Crean of Plymouth, a sister Pauline Kelly of RI, many grand and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Wife of the late William J. Smith, Jr. who she married January 4, 1942 she was a sister of the late Rita Perrota, Mary Plourde and Joseph McLaughlin.
