IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlene (Milburn)
Dyous
October 1, 1954 – February 7, 2025
It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charlene Dyous at the age of 70. Charlene left us at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and resilience. Born on October 1, 1954, in Boston, MA, she dedicated her life to caring for others, always ready to offer comfort, support, and even the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
A devoted daughter of Charles Milburn and Carrie Belle-Brooks, Charlene experienced both deep joy and profound loss. She shared a love with her late husband, Rochester Dyous, whose memory remained a guiding light in her life. Her enduring spirit was further enriched by her three loving children—sons Charles and Calvin Dyous and daughter Chantel Dyous—as well as her 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Though her eldest son, Chester Milburn, preceded her, her loving family continues to draw strength from her remarkable life. Charlene is also survived by eight cherished siblings—Carolyn Gaines (74), Donna Moore (69), Dolores Milburn (67), Theresa Milburn (63), Gloria Goss (62), Richard Milburn (60), John Milburn (58) and Ronald Milburn (57)—while her brother Charles Milburn also went before her.
Charlene's greatest passion was being—being a mother, a grandmother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and so much more. She embraced every role with love and devotion, making those around her feel cherished, valued, and safe. Her presence alone was a source of comfort, joy, and unwavering support.
In her final moments, Charlene was surrounded by the loving faces of her family. At 10:40 PM, after seeing each cherished loved one one final time, she peacefully released her last breath with her dear sister Dolores Milburn by her side. The family is profoundly grateful for the compassionate strength and devotion that Dolores provided during those tender final moments.
A service to celebrate Charlene's extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Russell and Pica Funeral Home, located at 165 Belmont St, Brockton, MA, 02301. An open casket will allow friends and family to pay their final respects and share in the warmth of her memory.
Charlene's life was a beacon of love and compassion. Her gentle spirit and selfless nature will remain in our hearts forever, guiding us with hope and inspiring us to care for one another as she did. Her memory is a precious gift that we will cherish for generations to come.
