Online Obituaries Charles Carl Aftosmes, 77, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the beloved Husband for 50 years of Thalia (Zaferiou) Aftosmes. Born July 12, 1937 in Boston, MA he was a son of the late Carl C. Aftosmes and Mersina (Vounatsos) Aftosmes. He attended Greek Cathedral Sunday School and Cadmus Greek School. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School Class of 1955. Charles attended Boston Architectural Center for one year and graduated from Lee Real Estate School with a Brokers License. He was a resident of Dorchester from 1937-1970 and a resident of Brockton from 1971-2015. Charles owned and operated with his brother Jim, the Central Spa at 403 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. In 1979 he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Braintree and retired in 1999. Charles was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. He was a Boston Patriot fan from their beginning in 1960 and was a season ticket holder with seats on the fifty yard line. He is survived by his beloved wife Thalia, loving father of Carl Aftosmes of Phoenix, AZ and Steven Aftosmes and his girlfriend Robin of Brockton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James Jimmy Aftosmes. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Tuesday, February 24th from 9:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will be held in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
