Charles Regas, age 86, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Andover, MA. Charles died peacefully with beloved family by his side. Charles was born on September 12, 1934 in a port city within Athens urban area called Piraeus, Greece to Harold and Vasiliki Regas and his one sibling James. He lived in Greece throughout his adulthood and then served the Greek Navy for four years traveling throughout the world where he immigrated and made a home in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1960. He met Pauline Dinopoulous soon after and were married on June 24, 1962 and raised their 3 sons, George (57), Peter (52) who recently passed away on April 16, 2021 and Thomas (50). He worked as a machine shop inspector at High Voltage in Brighton, Massachusetts where he retired in 2000. Charlie is survived by his 2 living sons George and wife/daughter-in-law Diana, Tom and longtime girlfriend Dawn Smith along with his 7 grandchildren Nicholas, George Jr., Kristos, Cameron, Austin, Demetri and Alex Regas. He is also survived by his son Peter's wife Sue. Charlie will be remembered for his bright smile, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. He was a dedicated husband and father. He treasured his grandchildren and especially loved his role as Papou. Charlie loved the simple things in life like going to Castle Island in South Boston, eating his cheeseburger and fries at Sullivan's and just relaxing under the warm sunshine and breathing in the ocean air surrounded by family or taking a bus trip to Foxwoods for the day just to enjoy the company of his friends. He was a simple, kind man who did not ask much out of life except the love from his family. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us and finally reunited with the love of his life Pauline. Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 17th from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church located at 457 Oak Street, Brockton, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at the Melrose Cemetery at 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton at his final resting place. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. Flowers can be sent to the church for funeral service or contributions may be made in his name to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. A memorial luncheon in Charlie's honor will immediately follow after services at Amelia's located at 217 Washington Street, Stoughton.
