Obituary

After 90 years of running hard, on Friday, December 30th, 2022, Charles K. Taylor, finished his race and crossed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Born on April 20th, 1932, Charles lived every day to the fullest, squandering no opportunity to be a blessing to others. After serving in the Navy, he worked in several jobs before eventually becoming a custodian for Brockton Public Schools. He took pride in his work and did not retire until the age of 82.

Charles was first and foremost devoted to Jesus and anyone who knew him experienced his enthusiasm for the Gospel. His love for Jesus fueled his love for others and was lived out in acts of service that ranged from fixing bicycles for neighborhood kids to buying food for those in need. He was particularly talented in working with his hands and there was nothing he was not willing to do if it would benefit others.

Charles was vibrant and active - eager to hike, cycle, mow the lawn, paint the house, and even white water rafted for the first time at the spry age of 71. He was often smiling and enjoyed meeting new people. His love for individuals was genuine.

He was an outstanding husband and father, modeling faith, hard work, and generosity among other qualities. He frequently underestimated the impact he had on others.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Kleber and Ruth (Crowdis) Taylor. He is survived by his wife Carole (Reed) Taylor, his children Douglas Taylor of Brockton, Rebecca Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida, and Deborah Post and her husband, Alex of Freeland, Washington, and his granddaughter Avery Post, along with his sisters Jeanne Roscoe and Berle Lombardi and many nieces and nephews among extended family.

Charles will be missed but his family takes comfort in the words of Jesus in John 11:25 that "He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either West Bridgewater Community Church (83 N. Elm St, West Bridgewater, MA 02379) or to Compassion International (https://www.compassion.com/ways-to-donate.htm)

Services to celebrate Charles' life will be held in March.
