Obituary

Cheryl A. (Rose) Callaghan age 65 of Brockton died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at her home after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife of James F. Callaghan, Sr. for 47 years. Cheryl was born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Mae B. Rose and remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Before her illness forced her retirement, Cheryl worked in the mortgage department at Harbor One for over 18 years, where she made the President’s Council. She enjoyed playing bingo and her pets, but enjoyed most of all, time spent with her family.
Cheryl was the mother of James Callaghan, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Maine and Christine Peterson and her husband Mark of Brockton. She leaves four grandchildren Christopher, Brad, Ryan and Kyle.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. Private burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. Donations in Cheryl’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
