IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christo H.
Coutsoumbos
December 10, 1943 – November 26, 2023
Christo H. Coutsoumbos, 79, of West Bridgewater passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the husband of Vilma N. (Repetto) Coutsoumbos.
Born on December 10, 1943 in Panama, he was the son of the late Panagiota Coutsoumbos. The brother of Stella Tzortzatos, and her late husband Stelios, Sophie Koutsoumbou, Tulla Giannaros and her late husband Peter.
In addition to his wife, Vilma, and his sisters, Christo is survived by his children Sofia Lapsley and her husband Michael, Stella Beal and her husband Mark, Vanessa Sharkey and her husband Jonathan, Peter Coutsoumbos and Krysten Conley and her husband Chris; his grandchildren Christopher Coutsoumbos-Beal and his wife Amanda, Tanya Coutsoumbos-Beal, Zachary Lapsley, Austin Lapsley, Alex Lapsley, Jared Sharkey, Gabriella Sharkey, Mandalyn Coutsoumbos, Zoe Coutsoumbos, Kendall Conley and Camden Conley; his great-grandchildren Thea, Violet and Julian; along with many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Chris and his wife emigrated to the United States on May 1, 1968 to pursue his "American Dream", with 3 daughters and a son on the way. Thirteen years later they were blessed with a 4th daughter. Chris was the owner of the Brockton Cafe where he was known as the "Pizza King" and later went on to be the owner of Heidi's breakfast. Chris made of his employees and customers feel like a part of his family.
He loved going back to Panama to spend time with his family. His passions were hunting, fishing, and cooking and he enjoyed talking about them as much as doing them. Chris loved the outdoors, and in his later years he was known to feed all the animals in sight from the birds, rabbits, deer and the chipmunks. Chris real passion was his family, immediate and extended. He loved spending time with them. Whether it was a sporting event, a birthday party or a dance recital, Papou was always there. His daily multiple phone calls will be missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 10AM followed by interment in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
