Christopher T. Backoff, 56, of Whitman, MA sadly passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
Born on January 29, 1969 in Boston, MA. He was the beloved son of Thomas H. Backoff and Judith A. (Bickford) Backoff.
Raised in Whitman and a proud member of the community, Chris lived a life built on kindness, integrity, and quiet generosity.
Chris graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in 1987. Soon thereafter he was enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Dover, DE.
For over 17 years Chris worked as a Customer Service Manager & Buyer for Flintec , a Manufacturer of Precision of Weight Measurement Technologies in Hudson, MA. He was an exceptional worker whose dedication and kindness profoundly impacted the company.
Chris also loved the arts which included music, musical theater, as well as singing in various choruses.
He was an avid reader and loved reading books since he was young. As a child he often was called Christopher Robin from the A.A. Milne books.
Chris enjoyed travelling abroad where he regularly visited London, England, Germany, and Sri Lanka. In addition to travelling abroad, he also enjoyed travelling west to Vail, Colorado, and San Diego, CA. If he wasn't travelling west or abroad, you could find him in Northern New England vacationing with family and friends.
He loved foods from around the world, but most of all you would always find him eating a good lasagna.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Andrew Backoff and his wife Dr. Connie Cardillo-Backoff and Brian Backoff and his wife Suzanne. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his niece "Scout."
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, June 11th from 1:00PM-4:00PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 4:00PM. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Whitman at a later date.
