Christopher Casieri, 29, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019. Christopher was born on March 27, 1989 in Bogota, Columbia. When Chris was 3 months old, his parents Jim and Ellie travelled to Bogota and adopted Chris at an orphanage in the Mountains of Colombia. Chris was raised in Brockton and graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham High School in 2007 and then served in the United States Army. He was an avid sports fan in in his young life had played baseball with a passion. He excelled at playing chess and most recently on Thanksgiving Day showed his skills by defeating anyone who chose to play him. Chris will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, all it took was one time meeting him to know he was a kind and gentle soul who's smile could light up a room. Chris will be greatly missed by his parents, aunts, uncles, countless cousins and friends. Chris's family and friends encourage those who have loved ones battling addictions to seek treatment and never stop trying. Chris is survived by his parents, Jim and Elie Casieri and their beautiful grandson, Chase; his aunts and uncles, Rita Cashin, Gina and Mike Mackiewicz, Dan and Karen Casieri, Bill and Beth Black and Pam and Tim Tobbin; he is also survived by countless cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late William and Eleanor Black and Joseph and Gilda Casieri. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday at 8:00AM thence to St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Wednesday from 4:00-8:00PM.
