Christopher J. O’Connor age 54 of Brockton, passed unexpectedly on January 6, 2020. He was the devoted husband of Christine (Carabba) O’Connor. Born in Newton and raised in Easton he was the son of the late John J. and Virginia (Spadea) O’Connor.
A graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational High School. Chris worked in the Manufacturing Industry as a Facilities Manager and Master Journeyman Boiler Operator in the greater Boston area.
Chris loved vacationing in Eastham, fishing with family and friends for striped bass and bluefish on the Ginny G. out of Provincetown. He also enjoyed raising domesticated turkeys to put on friends and family’s tables at Thanksgiving. Chris had a strong work ethic and was multi-talented…he could fix anything.
He will be remembered as a funny, quick witted, charming and loyal friend who was and will be forever missed by family and friends.
In addition to his wife Christine, Chris is survived by his three children Christopher J. O’Connor, Jr. (Lauren Scott) parents of Chris’ 1 st grandchild Landon Christopher of Attleboro; Kelsey A. O’Connor, of Simpsonville, SC and Owen J. O’Connor of Brockton. Brother, Shaun (Janet) O’Connor of Old Town, ME.; Sisters’, Brenda Kelley of Plymouth, Karen Peterson of Taunton, Marcy Boykin of Sarasota, FL. He was the nephew of Thaddeus “Ted” O’Connor, Veronica “Ronnie” (Jim) Lavelle, Eleanor Spadea and Robert “Bobby” (Janice) Spadea.
Preceded in death by brother Patrick A O’Connor, Aunt Patricia “Patsy” Spaulding and Uncle Francis “Sonny” Spadea.
He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Saturday, January 18 th from 2PM to 5PM with a memorial service starting at 4PM, cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Chris’ name to a Mental Health Awareness organization of your choice.
