IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher Bruce
Winters
June 1, 1981 – October 8, 2024
Christopher Bruce Winters, 43, of Mansfield, MA, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2024, surrounded by his wife, family and so much love after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 1st, 1981 to Susan and Bruce Winters, Chris grew up in Athol, MA. As part of a big family in a small town, he recalled his parents usually knew what he had been up to before he even made it home.
Chris was an accomplished student, gifted athlete and dedicated community volunteer. After graduating from Athol High School, Chris attended Bryant College in Smithfield, RI, where he studied Business Administration.
After college, he started his career in technology, which sent him to California before a chance trip home led to meeting Katelyn. Soon after, Chris was trading California sunsets for his New England roots. They fell in love, married in 2012 and welcomed 3 sons, Aiden, Liam and Gavin, settling into a busy family life in Mansfield, MA. Chris was always happiest when surrounded by family, close friends and laughter; a natural storyteller, his impressions were always spot on.
Chris always loved a challenge and his work at Sonos, EnerNOC and most recently, Narvar, offered many opportunities, but more importantly, allowed Chris to create lasting friendships and learn from amazing mentors. Outside of work, Chris enjoyed unwinding through golf and skiing, as well as attending concerts and sporting events. Chris loved sports, especially soccer, and he was thrilled to pass that love down to his boys.
In addition to his parents, wife and sons, Chris is survived by his sister, Sarah and her husband Ahmed Abdelaziz of Needham, MA, brother, Kyle and his wife Rachel of Manchester, NH and Matthew and his wife Lauren of Farmington, ME in addition to many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. His early departure from our lives has left a gaping hole, but we will continue to keep his memory alive through our shared stories and love for Chris.
A gathering will be held to honor Chris at Russell & Pica Funeral Home West Bridgewater, MA on Sunday, October 20th from 2-6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 21st at St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, MA at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chris' honor to the PanMass Challenge or the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, two causes close to his heart.
