Obituary

Christos Kotsiopoulos, 64, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, Godfather and friend passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2023, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on September 5, 1958, the younger son of the late Sophocles and Soultana (Zisopoulos) Kotsiopoulos. He grew up and lived in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School with a Merit Scholarship. He moved to Boston to attend The College of Engineering at Boston University graduating with honors.

Upon his graduation from Boston University Chris moved to Silicon Valley in California to work as a computer engineer for various companies, including Nvidia, as a chief computer engineer. After 20 years he returned to Brockton in 2000 upon the death of his father. Most recently in retirement he made Honolulu his home.

He enjoyed his trips to Greece and Florida, visiting grandparents and relatives. Chris enjoyed traveling as a junior in high school, and while studying German he was awarded a German scholarship to spend the summer with a family in Nuremberg. Through his work he was sent to Tokyo, Japan for six weeks for business. Chris loved to experience other cultures, customs and foods. His last trips to Massachusetts, California, and Florida to visit family and friends will always be cherished. Chris had a green thumb and gardening was another passion whether it was growing fruit, vegetables or landscaping.

He was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church. Most recently he was on the Parish Council at Sts. Constantine and Helen in Honolulu were he was part of the Book Club and men's group. He also was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. During his time at Brockton he served on the Parish Council for many years and helped with the annual church festival. He was a member of AHEPA. His tech savvy skills made him the go-to guy to fix any technical issues whether in church or helping out others.

Chris' kind and caring spirit will be missed by his family, his dear friends and the countless people whose lives he touched. He will be remembered most for the love he had for his family and friends and it was reciprocated by those who knew him. He had an amazing sense of humor, a brilliant mind and a radiant smile.

He is predeceased by his father, Sophocles, and his mother, Soultana, grandparents and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He leaves behind his brother, Philip and sister-in-law Mary Kotsios; his nephew Stephen and wife Frany Kotsios; nieces Tina Schutz and Maria Kotsios; grandnieces and grandnephews, Madeline, Alexandra, Mark and Luke; Godchild Chrysanthos Constantinou, DMD, many uncles, aunts, cousins and best friends Joe, Tom and Don.
