It is with profound sadness that the family of Claire (Credit) Prisco announces her passing on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the age of 95.

Claire was the widow of Michael Prisco, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Claire was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1927 in Boston to the late Alice (Splaine) and George Credit. Claire grew up in Jamaica Plain with her brother Albert "Nip" and her cherished Aunt Mae and Uncle Bill Splaine. In 1947, Claire married Michael Prisco and together they raised a family of seven children. The family lived in Brockton until 1977 when Claire and Michael built their forever home in Bridgewater. Claire was a loving mother and grandmother, always putting her children and family first. She loved to host family gatherings and holiday celebrations. Her cooking is legendary, especially her handcrafted pasta, meatballs, cream puffs, and lemon meringue pies.

Claire worked in the cafeteria at East Junior High School in Brockton and elevated the school lunch program by sharing her exceptional cooking skills. She also worked at the Raymond Elementary and retired from Brockton High School. She worked for several years at the Bridgewater Hallmark Store.

She was blessed with so many dear friends, including Lauren, Joann, and the late Louise Valley.

Claire loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. She loved to photograph the beautiful wooded scenes and wildlife around her home. She was an animal lover and generously supported shelters and organizations that care for animals. She always had a dog, including her golden lab, Lacey, who was a faithful companion for many years.

Claire will be lovingly remembered and will live on in the spirit of her family, including her children Linda and her husband Ron, Michael, Jr. "Buddy" and his wife Susan, Nancy and her husband David, Joan and her husband Guy, Jeanne, and Stephen and his wife Nancy. Along with her children, Claire is survived by 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael and her son Paul.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 27th at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater at 11:00 AM, followed by interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Wednesday, October 26th from 4:00-6:00 PM.
