Obituary

Clara F. “Claire” (Guglia) Buckley age 93 of Brockton died December 13, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Gerald B. Buckley.

Claire was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Allessandro and Francesca (Pistone) Guglia. She had lived in Brockton for 82 years before moving to Stoughton 11 years ago.

For many years Claire had worked as a seamstress in several local ladies garment factories.

In her free time Claire enjoyed taking rides and eating out with her husband, as well as visiting family, playing cards, dancing, bowling, sewing and cooking. Claire especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.

Claire was the mother of Donald F. Buckley and his husband Wayne Savaria of Taunton, Gerald B. Buckley, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Holbrook and the late John J. Buckley. She was the grandmother of Jerry B. Buckley, III and Nicole Lyons and great grandmother of Aiden Buckley. She was the sister of Mary Hardy of Punta Gorda, FL and the late John, Carmelo and Salvatore Guglia, Lena Beddia and Linda Douillette.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
