Clara E. Colomobo Clara E. Colombo, 98, of Brockton, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Flaviano (Red) Colombo. She was a tireless and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born June 8, 1910 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Rocco Galante and Mary (DiPasqua) Galante. Clara was raised in Brockton and attended Brockton schools. Clara was a stay-at-home mother until World War II broke out when she went to work. At Packard Shoe Company she made shoes for the service men. She later spent 20 years as a cafeteria worker at the then new West Jr. High School and the Hancock Elementary school. She loved feeding the students and often gave them more food than was allowed. She is survived by her son, Louis (Sonny) Colombo and his wife Margaret of N. Falmouth, her daughter Claire Kelly of Canton, her grandchildren Marie Maggio, John Colombo, Diane Montani, Karen Tracy, Mark Kelly, Nancy Kelly, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her brother Edward of Florida. She also was the sister of the late Alfred, Michael, Eugene, Esther, Helen, and Anita. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell and Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt 123) Brockton on Monday, December 29th at 9:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West. St., Brockton, where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
