Clarice Alves Monteiro December 26, 1930 – July 3, 2026
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Clarice Alves Monteiro, 95, passed away peacefully in Brockton, Massachusetts, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 26, 1930, in Fogo, Cabo Verde, Clarice lived a life defined by unwavering faith, humility, resilience, and unconditional love
A devoted servant of Jehovah, her faith guided every aspect of her life and was the foundation upon which she built her family and cared for others.
Clarice’s greatest joy was her family. She was the loving wife of Guilherme Monteiro, mother of Lourenço, Laurenca, Ernesto (Lucindo), Mario, Guilhermina (Prentcha), Ines (Tuntuna), Julio, Tadeu (Tete), Maria (Dida) and Nelson. She also lovingly raised Manuel (Santinho), Jose Antonio (Valdovindo), Orlando (Nona), Crisanta (Nina), Maria (Terezinha), and Isabel embracing them with the same love, guidance, and devotion she gave her own children.
Clarice welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. She possessed a quiet strength that brought peace during life’s most difficult moments. She never sought recognition or material things, finding her greatest happiness in her faith, her family, and life’s simple blessings. To those who knew her, she was the backbone of the Monteiro family—a steady presence whose wisdom, compassion, and quiet courage shaped generations. Her beautiful legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her two sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love.
While her family mourns her passing, they also find comfort in Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection and look forward with hope to the day they will be joyfully reunited with her.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13 at 10:00a.m. at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, followed by internment at Melrose Cemetery.
