Clerina Alcius, 94, of Brockton passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Clerina was born on September 15, 1928 in Boucan Carre, Haiti to the late Louise Vertus and Clernéus Alcius. She grew up in Mirebalais, Haiti and immigrated to the United States in 1986. She was truly a woman of God and very active in her church and choir. Clerina had a passion for education and taught many students to read while in Haiti. She was a tireless worker and always put family first. During her free time she enjoyed singing, playing soccer, cooking and taking walks around the neighborhood. She adored her grandchildren and made sure God was the center of their lives through music, Bible readings, and prayer. Everyday until her last breath she recited Bible verses and gave praise to her lord and savior.
She is survived by her children Jocelyne Riche & Louis Riche (Husband), Rosette Rateau & Jean Rateau (Husband) her son Emmanuel Alcius. Grandchildren Marie Rateau and Gaston Africo (Husband), Nandy Rateau, Kassandra Rateau, Noube Rateau, Fana Joseph and Jean Luc Vanel Joseph (Husband), Roll Riche, Rouddlande Riche, Magda Riche, Rock Riche and Elodia Johnson-Riche (Wife).
Great Grandchildren Giovani Africo, Kheyon Africo, Dylan Africo, Christopher Africo, Marcus Africo, Samantha Vilus, Kheiara Vilus, Matthew Joseph, Andrew Joseph, Mateo Lindstrom, Natasha Lindstrom, Christina Riche, Ryael Riche, Neelle Riche, Aviel Riche, Dahniel Riche, Abelle Riche, and Jiannah Kay Telusca. Great Great Grandchild Saint Nasir Africo.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 10:00AM in St. Paul's Parish, 701 Pleasant Street Brockton, MA 02301. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree, MA. Visitation will be prior to the service in the CHURCH from 9:00AM to 10:00AM.
