Cornelius Johnson, known to most as "Neil", 74, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Vincilia M. (Fell) Johnson. Born on September 15, 1947 in St. Matthews, South Carolina, he was the son of the late James Johnson and Izola (White) Johnson. He graduated from Dorchester High School. Beginning his law enforcement career with the Metro Police, Neil was a Massachusets State Trooper for 25 years. In addition to his wife Vincilia, Neil is survived by his daughter Chalane L. Johnson; his grandson Stephon C. Brathwaite; great-grandson Treize A. Brathwaite; siblings Elizabeth Carrick, Viola Lesley and John Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Leroy Johnson, James Johnson, Jr., William Johnson, Ezekiel Johnson and Nancy Newbury. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 4th in Brockton Assembly of God, 199 Warren Ave., Brockton from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
