Daniel DosSantos Daniel DosSantos , 63, of New Bedford, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Maria Goncalves. Born March 1, 1945 in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of Mary Barros of Brockton and the late Fortunato Santos. Mr. DosSantos was a retired Police Officer at the Bridgewater State College where he worked for 20 years. He was a communicant and a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Assumption Church in New Bedford. He was a member of the Bisca Club. He is survived by his children, Lucinda Monteiro, Lucinia Sheffield, Maria Vieira, John Duarte, Daniel Soares, and Tim DosSantos; his brothers and sisters, Jose, Alberto, Pedro, Eugene, Manuel, Furtonato Santos, Manuel Barros, Antonio Gonsalves, Furtonato Gonsalves, Martina Gonsalves, Marta Monteiro, Antonia Alves, Luisa Lopes, Teolinda Barros, Ernestina Barros, Rita Barros, Ida Gonsalves, Luisa Gonsalves, Ernestina DePina, Isabele Teixeira, and Luisa DePina; he is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, May 16th at 8:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 9:00AM.
