Daniel R. Evans, Jr.

Daniel, known to family and friends as “Danny” “Busta” Evans, age 60 of Milton, MA, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2026.

Daniel is survived by his loving children, Sean of Brockton, MA, and Lisa and her husband Chris of Salem, MA; his mother, Alice and her husband Leonard Keough of Raynham, MA; his brother Brian of Colorado; and his fiancée of 10 years, Donnalee Guerin of Milton, MA. He is also survived by Donnalee’s children, Rachel of Hudson, MA and James of Boston, MA, as well as the grandchildren who he considered his own family. Danny also leaves behind his dedicated employees at Evans Machine Co., Inc., whom he valued deeply as an extension of his family, as well as the cherished family of his late wife, Debra, including her parents, William and Mary Chemelli and William, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra, and his father, Daniel senior.

Danny was born on September 10, 1965, to Alice and Daniel Evans. He graduated from Xaverian High School and Norwich University, which he remained steadfastly committed to supporting his entire life. He went on to join the family business and eventually lead Evans Machine Co., Inc., as President and built it into the world class, precision contract manufacturing firm that it is today. Danny’s first priority were his children. He spent countless hours coaching and watching them excel in soccer and hockey. In his spare time, Danny was very active in promoting the trades and he took pride in the work they did and was recognized many times as a small business leader. He also volunteered his time to countless organizations including: Norwich University, Xaverian Brothers, Metro South Chamber of Commerce, South Shore Vocational Advisory Board and Brockton Work Force Development. He was known for his magical personality, generosity and kindness to all who surrounded him.

Simply put, Danny was the very best of us. He had a special combination of kindness, thoughtfulness, toughness and generosity. He lived life to the fullest and loved everyone. Family, which has a broad definition in his life was first. His “family” included friends from childhood, high school, college and into his adulthood. He was always the steadying hand in trying times, the life of the party, especially on the dance floor, the voice of reason for advice, a competitive athlete who prided himself on his physical strength and was the one that showed up when you needed him. His positive approach to life and always placing people first created a wonderful example and left such a lasting impression on so many.

Everyone considered Danny their best friend because he made them feel that way.

He was an accomplished and renowned blue water angler, and he captained his beloved Hook’Em Dano with remarkable success at prestigious tournaments, including The Big Game Battle, on the Eastern Seaboard. A fixture on the docks from Nantucket to Palm Beach he was highly regarded within the sport fishing fraternity. His fishing adventures brought him around the world including Panama and Australia. He spent many years with his family and friends on Lake Winnipesaukee enjoying boating and snowmobiling. He was a long-time member of the Thorney Lea Golf Club in Brockton.

His life was well lived. The true testament to Danny is the love and respect everyone has for him and the number of tears that have been shed would fill the ocean he loved.

Visitation will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a private burial at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA. Family and friends are warmly invited to join together for a celebration of Daniel’s life at Thorny Lea Golf Club, 159 Torrey Street., Brockton, MA, on Thursday, September 4, at 12:00 p.m.
