Obituary

Daniel C. Harkins, 56 years of Brockton died Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Husband of Janine M. (LaPierre) Harkins. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Charles F. and Gloria A. (Swenson) Harkins. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1969 and following graduation attended U-Mass Boston.
Mr. Harkins started working in 1970 as a sweeper for the Rextrude Company of Brockton and retired in 2002 as Executive Vice President of that company. He was also CEO of the Harco Genya Lace Extrusion Company in Brockton for fifteen years; where he held several patents on various plastic products.
Daniel was as an active volunteer for many organizations in and around the Brockton area. He will be remembered as a loving family man.
In addition to his wife Janine M. Harkins, he was also the father of Daniel C. Harkins, Jr. and Genevieve Coughlin both of Brockton; brother of Karen Zigouras of Onset, Jeanine Byars of Wareham and Jennifer Hamilton of Hanson. He was also the proud grandfather to Logan D. and Maeve M. Coughlin. Also survived by several nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.
