Online Obituaries Daniel J. "Dan" Payne, 35, of Abington, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. Born March 26, 1979 in Brockton, he was the beloved son of Gordon F. Payne and Kathleen A. (Mahoney) Payne. Raised in Abington he attended Abington School and graduated from South Shore Vocational Technical High School in Hanover where he studied culinary. Dan was a Chef at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton for several years. He enjoyed fishing and dirt bike riding. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Sean F. Payne of Hull; his grandmother, Josephine Mahoney of Rockland; his step-sisters, Susan Walsh and Ann Marie DiPaola; his step-brother, Robert Cullen; he is also survived several cousins. Funeral Information A funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Thursday, March 26th at 9:00AM in St. Bridget Parish, 455 Plymouth St., Abington. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00PM.
