Obituary

David E. Barry, age 73, of Taunton formerly of Raynham and Brockton, died unexpectedly, October 6, 2022 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. David was the husband of the late Judith G. (Manoli) Barry, his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years. He was born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Thomas and Patricia (Hannigan) Barry. David was a 1966 graduate of Brockton High School and received his accounting degree from Stonehill College. During Vietnam, David served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.

For many years, he was employed as an accountant and was always willing to help family and friends with their taxes. He was an avid Boston sports fan, but his favorite pastime was watching his children and grandchildren participate in their sports games and activities. He enjoyed golf, travel, the casinos and attending concerts.

David is survived by his children Mark Barry and his wife Amanda of McDonough, GA, Kristen Stoddard and her partner Todd Morris of Ashland, MA and Denise Thompson and her husband Michael of Glenside, PA. He was the grandfather of Jake and Kevin Barry, Arianna Clemenzi, Katelyn Stoddard and Greyson and Ava Thompson. He was the brother of the late Joan and Gail Barry.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday, October 20 from 4-7pm.

Private family services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
