David N. Darois 88, long-time resident of Brockton, passed away June 6th surrounded by family. He was born July 12,1937 in Quincy Ma. To Arthur J. Darois and Lillian E. Pigeon.
David was a Veteran of the Korean War and worked as an Administrative Specialist for IBM for more than 20 years.
Dave will be remembered for his love of Ham Radio, for buying and selling at flea markets, he also loved the challenge of fixing anything especially electronics. He was involved in the Storm Watch group. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus for 33 years. He achieved 3rd degree and held many offices during that time, including Treasurer, Recorder, Community Director and Life Director.
Dave is survived by his son David M. Darois of Steubenville OH, his daughter Colleen and son-in-law Todd Cleaves and their children Brendon and Alanna Cleaves of Rockland. As well as his son Keith Darois, his daughter-in-law Amy Johnson and their son Logan Darois of Middleboro.
Dave was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 40 years Dorothy M. (McCormick) Darois, his 4 brothers Paul, Conrad, Gilbert and Eugene Darois as well as his parents Arthur and Lillian.
To Dave’s grandchildren he was the best Papa ever. Papa watched his grandchildren every day. If they skinned their knees, they wanted Papa because Papa could fix anything.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, June 16th at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, from 8-10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman St, Brockton. His burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:15pm at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David’s name to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (an Alzheimer’s Disease Research Foundation).
