David Rudolph Ellison, 85, of Brockton, departed this life for his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Born and raised in Vanceboro, North Carolina to the late Samuel and Goldia (Coward) Ellison. He attended school in North Carolina and was an Honorable discharge Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Serving during World War II as a Seaman First Class.
He enjoyed all types of music and games of chance,And loved visiting with his family and friends. He was employed as a long shore man for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Gennise Ellison of Oakland, California, Karen Scott of Aurora, Colorado, David Ellison Jr., of New Orleans; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Lillie Ruth Thompson and Myrtle Belle Williams Both of Brockton and Ella Jackson of Avon; his brothers Samuel Ellison and his wife Linda of New Bedford and Leslie Ellison of Oakland, California and brother-in-law, Issac Pope. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends. He was also the brother of the late Neater Pope, Marvin Ellison, and James Ellison.
