Obituary

David L. McGeary of Marshfield, passed away peacefully at home at the age 81 on November 2, 2011.

He was the devoted husband of Barbara L. (Daniloff) McGeary for 55 years. David was born in Brockton a son of the late James A. and Gladys L. (Varney) McGeary and was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton. A veteran of the Korean War, David served on the Brockton Fire Department for 32 years and retired as a lieutenant. He was affiliated with the American Legion Post #35 Brockton and Brockton Firefighters Union #144 and their Relief Association.

David is survived by his children James M. McGeary of Marshfield, Kathleen J. Rossner and her husband Stephen of Pembroke and David M. McGeary and his wife Tamara of Centerville, OH. He also leaves six grandchildren Stephani and Dana Rossner, Ryan, Tyler, Kyle and Julia McGeary. He was the brother of the late Shirley Leonard and leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton Sunday 2-5 pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home Monday at 8 am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9 am. Burial will follow in Avon Cemetery.
