David J. Nelson, 62, of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. He was the husband of Mary J. (Tyrrell) Nelson. Born May 17, 1955 in Boston, MA he was a son of Lois (Cole) Nelson and the late Harold J. Nelson. Raised and educated in Easton, David worked for Putnam Investments in Andover for 30+years. He was the oldest of his eight siblings. David was a Bridgewater resident for 32 years. He was an avid Boston Celtics and Red Sox fan. He was actively involved in the Bridgewater girls softball and boys baseball leagues. He enjoyed kayaking and most of all he was a dedicated family man. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. (Tyrrell) Nelson and his two children, Erin Nelson and David Nelson. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (RT28), West Bridgewater, on Wednesday, March 7th at 9:30AM thence to St. Ann Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater, where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00PM-8:00PM.
