Obituary

Denis Coole, age 90, of Brockton, died Thursday September 14, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Sheila (Denniston) Coole for 68 years. Denis was born and raised in Liverpool, England, one of 17 children of John Thomas and Hannah (Byrnes) Coole.

Denis immigrated to the United States in 1965 and settled in Brockton. Using his education in England, he was a design engineer at Ainslie Corporation in Brockton for 34 years. Denis enjoyed gardening at his home, playing golf where he had a hole in one as a novice and, most importantly, ballroom dancing with his wife.

Denis will be remembered as a caring protector and provider who loved his family most of all.

In addition to his wife Sheila, Denis leaves his daughters Elaine Corcoran and her husband Patrick of Hanover and Shirley Coole of Brockton, his two grandchildren Carissa Corcoran and Cole Corcoran and many nieces and nephews, including Michele Ford and her family.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 19, 2023 at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton from 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 am for a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
