Obituary

Mildred “Dina” (Newell) Piasecki, age 86, of West Bridgewater, passed away November 1, 2011 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater following a brief illness. She was the wife for 38 years of the late C. Michael Piasecki. Dina was born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Mildred C. (O’Connell) (Newell) Tucker and the late Guy Newell. She attended Brockton schools and worked at Brockton Cut and Dye Company in her younger days. Dina was raised in Brockton and had been a resident of West Bridgewater for many years. She had an outgoing personality and enjoyed meeting other people in social settings, including Red Hat gatherings, playing cards, dining out and spending time with her siblings and their extended families. She was a loving aunt, great aunt and great, great aunt of many and will always have a special place in their memories. Dina will always be remembered for sending cards and flowers to loved ones on all occasions. She was fashionable and never missed her Friday hairdresser appointment.

Dina is survived by her brothers Francis Newell and his wife Lillian of Bridgewater, James Newell of West Bridgewater, William Newell and his wife Muriel of Plymouth and her sister Helen Colombo and her husband Louis of Carver. She was the mother of the late Robert Mooney, former wife of the late Charles Mooney, sister of the late John Newell and sister in law of the late Margaret Newell, and dear friend of the late Alton “Bud” Dutra.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will form at the Funeral home Friday at 10am for a funeral mass at St. Edith Stein Parish at 11am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
