Oriola
January 1, 1919 – July 4, 2025
Dolores (Sardella) Oriola of Brockton, MA passed away peacefully at home July 4th, 2025 at the age of 83. Dolores was born in Brockton, MA to her parents Mauro and Angie Sardella. She met and married her husband Lou Oriola of 60 years and together they raised their family. She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Sardella of Brockton MA. Dolores is also survived by her two boys, Michael Oriola and his wife, Michelle of Ooltewah TN, and John Oriola and his wife, Maribel of Brockton, MA. Dolores' brightest lights of her life were her two grandsons, Joseph Oriola and his wife Ally, of Canton, GA; and Anthony Oriola and his wife Tarryn of Millersville, MD. Dolores loved her grandchildren, and was well-known around the little league baseball fields for her chicken wings which she brought for her grandson's teammates and family.
Dolores graduated Brockton High School in 1959. After attending Chandler School for Women, she worked professionally as an office manager for West Bridgewater Medical Group. She was a longtime member of the 20th Century Catholic Women's Club and after retiring Dolores became an active volunteer for My Brother's Keeper organization.
Dolores great love was her family and her friends. She and her husband Lou raised their family in Brockton surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles and very good friends, Sunday dinners and holidays were her specialty. For her whole life, Dolores held tight to the friendships she had made from early childhood to later in life. Her friends were most precious to her. She very much enjoyed spending earlier summer days near the lake in Mashpee or sitting on a Cape Cod beach serving her homemade food to family and friends who had joined them. Her life was about being together with family and making sure everyone had enough to eat. She set and achieved so many goals as she battled cancer. Her determination and dedication to her family was to be admired.
Calling hours in The Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (rt.123) Brockton on Friday, July 11th from 4:00PM-7:00PM. A funeral mass mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul on Saturday, July 12th in St. Ann Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater at 1:00PM. Interment will be held in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dolores's memory to My Brother's Keeper, PO Box#338, Easton, MA 02356.
