Born July 7, 1960 in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of Alberto Monteiro and Idalina Goncalves. She is survived by her daughters, Marialina Gomes and Helena Resende; her grandchildren, Gisella Montufar and Mike Resende; sister of Tereza Goncalves, Laurinda Goncalves, Maria Goncalves, Guilherme Goncalves, Felipe Mouteiro, Maria da Luz Goncalves, Maria Cardoso, Gitrude Monteiro, Guilermina Monteiro and Maria Eugenia dos Santos.
