Domingas Rodrigues Monteiro of Fogo Cabo Verde, was born on December 22nd, 1926. She passed away peacefully at the age of 96, surrounded by her beloved family on May 12th, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Rosalia and Pedro Rodrigues, sister of the late Milin Rodrigues, Erena Rodrigues, and Sensan Rodrigues. She was the devoted wife of the late Francisco Monteiro for over 50 years, and was the loving mother of their 7 children. The late Margarida Monteiro, the late Pedro Monteiro, Antonio and wife Mia Monteiro of Fall River, Jose and wife Alda of Brockton, Jose and wife Ines Monteiro of Brockton, Amarilis and husband Aguinaldo Rodrigues of Brockton. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Alongside her husband and children, Domingas migrated to Angola from Cabo Verde where she raised her family from 1964-1975, until they set roots in the United States, in Brockton Massachusetts. Domingas enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and admiring the beauty of flowers and plants, but what she loved the most was spending time with her family. She will be remembered as the sweet and loving woman with a smile that would light up a room. Her wisdom, warm embrace, and quirky conversations will be missed and never forgotten.

Calling hours will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16th at 165 Belmont St. Brockton, from 5-8 p.m. Mass will follow at St. Edith Stein parish on Wednesday, May 17th at 10 a.m, 71 East Main St. Brockton. Burial to conclude services at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl St. Brockton.
