Obituary

Don Ritucci 85, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died on Friday, February 2, 2024, after a long and courageous battle against illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Paone) Ritucci for 48 years.

Don was born in Brockton, November 29, 1938, and was a son of the late Mario and Sue Ritucci. He was a graduate of the Brockton High School Class of 1956 and Bentley College of 1960. He served in the Army reserves and was a 40-year employee of the Polaroid Corporation.

He was actively involved in the Brockton community serving on the Brockton Planning Board for several years and a big fan of Brockton High School football and the marching band.

Don was an avid reader who enjoyed going out to dinner, theater, college marching bands, Boston sports, and spending time with family and friends. He loved Italian cuisine and never met a bowl of pasta he didn't enjoy. If not battling on the tennis courts, he was often seen walking his beloved golden retrievers at the Brockton Fairgrounds, rain or shine.

Don, a.k.a. Gramps, was the very proud grandfather of Matthew, Michael and Mackenzi Curtin, Mason Rober, Aubriella and Milo Govoni and great grandfather of Matthew Curtin and Kinsley Curtin. He was also loved by his four-legged grandpets, Lyla and Lola.

He is survived by his four children, Sheryl Curtin and her husband Bob of East Bridgewater, Laura Rober of Brockton, Don Ritucci and his wife Irina of New York, NY, and Nicole Govoni and her husband Kevin of North Attleboro.

Predeceased by his brother Richard Ritucci, he is survived by his brother John Ritucci and his wife Sue, and his sister Mary Skaparas. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws John Paone and his wife Arlene, and Nick Paone and his wife Lorna, as well as several nieces and nephews.
