IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris
Blanchard
April 1, 1936 – November 18, 2025
Doris Louise (Moran) Blanchard, 89, of Brockton, Massachusetts died peacefully on November 18, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Mass, surrounded by her loving family.
Doris Blanchard was born in Brockton on April 1, 1936 to her predeceased parents, father Clement Moran, and mother Louise Moran. She was the sister of the late Robert Moran, Sr., Patricia Marie Moran, Elaine (Moran) Morse, and Paul Moran, Sr.
Doris Blanchard was a lifelong resident of Brockton, until her later life where she last resided at the John Scott House, in Braintree, Mass.
Doris dedicated her early life working to support and raise her seven children, and retired after 20 years in a civilian position, serving the needs of United States military veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Brockton, Mass. She was an advocate for the employees working environment, and as a result was awarded many times over with employee of the month and a national superior performance award, honoring her advocacy.
Doris is survived by only two of her seven children, her daughter Cindy A. Barry and her husband Joseph F. Barry, Sr. of Brockton, and her daughter Linda S. Daggett, also of Brockton. Doris is predeceased by her late children Paul C. Blanchard, Sr., Michael A. Blanchard, Patricia J. Blanchard, Diane E. Blanchard, and Cheryl M. Blanchard - Sweeney.
Doris Blanchard is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and even great great great grandchildren.
Doris was known for hosting every holiday in her home, which became a tradition within our family. She enjoyed playing bingo, yardsaling and bargain shopping, going to the movies and dinner, nearly weekly, with her sister Elaine Morse. She was truly a family-oriented woman.
Doris Blanchard was the matriarch of a large and ever growing family. She devoted every moment of her existence to raise, support and encourage the journey in life, we all now lead. Doris was the backbone of strength for our family, and her many acts of devotion have inspired us all to live on following in her footsteps and traditions.
