Obituary

Doris L. (Laverty) Doherty, 94 years old of Brockton died Tuesday July 14, 2009 at her home after a period of failing health. Wife of the late Daniel Doherty a WWII Veteran. She was born in West Bridgewater and raised in Brockton, the daughter of the late John T. and Louise D. (McGarry) Laverty. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and had worked as a secretary for the City of Brockton for most of her career. She worked in the Veterans Service and for Mayor Gerald Lucy.
She enjoyed music and dancing and still danced with her walker and she also loved the beach. Doris truly enjoyed her home and spending time on her porch and raising roses.She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

She is survived by niece, Kathy Lagerstedt and her husband Rick of Brockton and her family and Dennis Laverty of Brockton.

A Graveside Service was held at Calvary Cemetery.
