Dorna Lee (Edson) Bevis, 82, of West Bridgewater passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at St. Joseph Manor Health Care in Brockton after a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert D. Bevis.

Born in West Bridgewater on March 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Minot Edson and Arlene (Phillips) Edson. She was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School.

Dorna worked as a pharmacy technician and was a member of the Conservation Commission and Historical Commission of West Bridgewater as well as a member of the East Bridgewater Garden Club.

In addition to enjoying gardening, Dorna also liked reading, cooking and baking, camping, traveling, sewing, and Cape Cod. She also loved historic homes.

Dorna is survived by her husband Robert D. Bevis of West Bridgewater; her children Paul M. Bevis (deceased), Joan M. (Bevis) Schmeichel and her husband Eric of Sheridan, WY and Tracy L. (Bevis) Ledin and her husband Matthew of Rehoboth, MA; her grandchildren Paul M. Bevis, Jr. of Newton, MA, Amanda L. (Bevis) Hathaway and her husband Shaun of Claremont, NH, Ashley M. (Bileau) Hooser and her husband John of Lawrence, KS, Christina R. Bileau of Milton, NH, Elizabeth L. Schmeichel of Everett, WA, Andrew K. Schmeichel of Everett, WA, and Gavin W. Ledin of Rehoboth; her siblings Donald M. Edson of Brookline, NH, and Dianne G. Dudley of Wareham, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Sunday, March 10th from 1:00PM-2:30PM followed by a funeral service at 2:30PM in the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
