Obituary

Dorothy M. (Simpson) Florio, age 100, died peacefully on January 20, 2025 at Alliance at West Acres. She was the wife of the late Henry P. Florio.

A daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Nagle) Simpson, Dorothy was born and raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School. Dorothy was a talented seamstress who had worked in the clothing industry in Brockton.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was a marvelous cook. She was also an avid reader who always had a book in her hand.

Dorothy was the mother of Joyce Parlow and her husband Bill, the late Paul Florio and his late wife Sharyn, the late Philip Florio and the late Janice Florio. She was the grandmother of Jillian Berry and her husband Brian, Caitlin Parlow-Green and her husband Daniel and Kelsey Florio. She also leaves 6 great grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Lillian, Sadie, Aidan, Carter and Tatum.

Her service was private.
