Obituary

Dorothy M. Gelsi, 78, of West Bridgewater passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Born on January 19, 1943 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. Perry and Dorothy L. (Staples) Perry. She moved to West Bridgewater when she was in third grade and graduated from West Bridgewater High School with the class of 1962. She worked for Johnson & Johnson DePuy for 26 years. Dorothy was an avid quilter and belonged to the Sachem Quilting Club, was a Red Sox fan who enjoyed watching games with her granddaughters and enjoyed traveling. Dottie also loved her dogs Mia and Tazor. She is survived by her daughter Melissa A. Flaherty and her husband Rich; granddaughters Ashley Flaherty and Brianna Flaherty; sisters Gail and Carol; aunt Muriel Hathway; niece and nephews Sandy, Jeff and John; and many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nephew Eddie. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt.28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, March 11th from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am. Interment will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Bridgewater Food Pantry. ************************* COVID-19 Funeral Home Capacity Restrictions******************** Russell & Pica Funeral Homes Guidelines when attending a funeral wake/service. All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter. All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
