Dorothy L. (Ebbs) Hembrough, 95, of Brockton, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at her home under the care of her family and hospice. She was the devoted wife of the late George P. Hembrough and the beloved matriarch of a family of 11 children, 30 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was "Ma" to Patrick, Dorothy Doherty, Teresa Tebeau, Keith, James, Mary Perry, AnnMarie Kelly and Patricia and the late Kevin, William, and Kathleen Pizzurro. She was the eldest of twelve children of Edna and Vernon Ebbs, sister of Mary Hayward and the late Edna, Ethel Taranto, William, Laura, Vernon, Clarence, Junior, John, James and Patricia.
Dottie was a quiet, unassuming woman with an unwavering devotion to God and her family and a steadfast inner strength grounded in her deep faith. She personified kindness, goodness, and generosity. She loved unconditionally. Her greatest delight was being with family whether it was a visit from one of her children or attending a big celebration with extended family.
For 73 years, she dedicated her whole self to the most admirable profession on earth: motherhood.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) BROCKTON on Thursday, April 28th from 9:00AM-10:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
