Dorothy M. (Folchi) Packard, 88 years, of Brockton died Monday evening February 11, 2008 at Island Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeville. She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Packard. Born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Augustino and Rosina (Meloro) Folchi. She was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1939 and the former Williams Business School in Brockton. During WW II Dorothy worked in the Quincy Shipyard and following her husband’s death she worked for the Dept. of Unemployment for a few years. She was a member of the 20th Century Catholic Club and the YMCA Women’s exercise group. Dorothy enjoyed working around her yard. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and had been a member of the choir.
Dorothy is survived by four children Mildred R. Yuscavitch and her husband David of Plymouth, Richard F. Packard and his wife Sharon of Sandwich, Elizabeth A. Foley of Taunton and Carole M. Upham and her husband David of New Port Richey, Fl.,10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren one brother Julio Folchi of Wareham and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert and Mario Folchi.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte123) Brockton Saturday at 8am. Funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, National Headquarters, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718, for online donations
