Obituary

Dorothy L. (Sylvia) (Poole) Cahill, 82 years, of Brockton died July 2, 2008 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in West Bridgewater, daughter of the late Warren J. and Leonis M. (Final) Sylvia, she had been a longtime resident of Brockton. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Poole and George J. Cahill. Prior to raising her family, she had been employed at George E. Keith Shoe Company in Brockton. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, working in her yard and taking care of her family.

She was the mother of Debra J. Swanson and her husband Steven of Mashpee, Diane L. Hennessy and her husband Lawrence of Randolph and the late Charles W. Poole, Jr.; grandmother of Christina Jewell, Ronda Guerreiro, TSgt. Melissa Bateman and Brittney Hennessy; great grandmother of Courtney, Joshua and Zackery Bateman and Dustin and Faith Jewell; sister of Barbara A. St. Jean of Brockton and the late Wallace A., Warren J. Jr. and John E. Sylvia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 12-2pm and 4-6pm.
